Congratulations to GLBUA umpire Tom Torrisi for recently being selected to be part of a state-wide 8 man crew for the Little League (Major Division) State Finals Tournament in West Roxbury, MA. Tom worked in 6 of the 7 games at the Parkway, including a plate assignment for the undefeated teams in the winner’s bracket. Tom also worked the 11 year old state finals, including a 1B assignment in the championship game between Newton South East and Hanover. Per Tom, “it was a great experience and the baseball was played at a very high level. My goal was to perform well enough to get invited back next year, and I believe that I more than accomplished that.
